Steps to insert an image:

  1. Place cursor in the location that you would like image placed.
  2.  Select the 'Insert' option from the menu bar at the top of the editor window. A drop down menu will appear.
  3. Select 'IMAGE..' to open 'INSERT IMAGE' dialog window (above image). Alternatively, selecticon on the top left toolbar.

  5. Enter a brief description in 'ALT Text' text field to improve search engine optimisation (e.g. MoST help menu-Insert image). This will only be visible on your website when a cursor moves over the image.
  6.  Select 'Style' drop down menu if you want to customise the standard 'Style' settings. Customising lets you alter border size and colour.
  7. Select 'Alignment' drop down menu to manage image placement. Changes to alignment must be done via HTML source once current dialog window is closed. Choose alignment from the following three options:
  • None

  • Left

Aligns image to the left of the screen and text will appear directly to the right of it.

  • Right

  8. Adjust number in 'Size' fields to alter size (Width x Height). Upsizing images is not recommended.

  9. Adjust number(s) in 'Padding' fields to alter space around image (Left x Right x Top x Bottom). Changes to padding must be done via HTML source once current dialog window is closed.

  10. Select 'OK' to save changes.

Note

Wrapping text either side of an image is very difficult using HTML, instead it is best to use an image editing tool like MS Paint or Photoshop.

You can attach a link to the image by highlighting it and selectingicon, or by following these steps.

When the same image is used in different sizes ensure that each size has a unique name e.g. 'cat_small.jpeg' and 'cat_lge.jpeg'.

Uploaded images must be saved in RGB colour mode.

If image captions are needed discuss with an expert designer.
