Users and Permissions

Create an Account

After you’ve finished creating an account you will need to set permissions for the account (unless they have been made ‘Sys Admin’). You can find instructions for setting permissions here.

The options available under ‘Startup Component’ and ‘Startup Section’ fields will depend on which components of MoST are enabled. If you only have MoST CMS component enabled then please ignore the ‘Startup Component’ and ‘Startup Section’ fields (steps 7 & 8).

To create an account:

  1. Click on the 'Users and Permissions' menu item from the tool bar. A drop-down menu will appear.
  2. Hover over the menu item 'User Accounts'. A sub-menu will appear.
  3. Click 'Create Account' to open the dialog window (above image).
  4. Enter a username in the 'Username' text field.
  5. Enter a password in the 'Password' text field. You will need to send the username and password on to the new user. Once they have logged in for the first time it is recommended that they update their password immediately.
  6. Enter the appropriate First Name, Last Name and Email address in the text fields provided.
  7. If applicable, select a ‘Startup Component’ option from the dropdown list, this will be the component that will appear first when the user logs in (e.g. select ‘Event Registrations’ for the Events Manager).
  8. If applicable, select the relevant ‘Startup Section’ associated with your ‘Startup Component’.
  9. Decide whether you want the user to be ‘Sys Admin’ and/or have ‘Force Password Change’ and click checkbox accordingly
  10. Click 'OK' to save the new user account.


Sys Admin: will give user full unrestricted permissions and access to MoST, the website and they will be able to create and modify other user accounts.

Force Password Change: will prompt the user to change their password when the first login. RECOMMENDED.
