RSS Feeds

The Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feed option publishes a summarised flow of frequently updated information such as blog entries, news updates and calendar entries to a document.

This option allows you to display an existing internal or external RSS feed. If you have an existing internal RSS feed you can make it available for end user subscription by publishing it, more info here.

Steps to insert an existing RSS feed:

  1. Place cursor in the location that you would like an RSS feed placed.
  2. Select the 'Insert' option from the menu bar at the top of the editor window. A drop-down menu will appear.
  3. Select 'RSS FEED' to open 'INSERT RSS FEED' dialog window (above image).
  4. In the 'URL' text field copy and paste the full RSS URL of the feed you would like displayed. This will be the website address that appears after you have click the RSS iconsubscription icon.
  5. Select a number under 'Items to Display' to alter the amount of updates that appear in your feed.
  6. Select the 'Link Headings' tick box to have the headings of each summarised update hyperlinked to the original source.
  7. Select 'OK' to insert RSS Feed.

To permanently save changes made select Save

If you are using an external RSS feed ensure that you have read the original source's RSS feed terms and conditions thoroughly.

You can enter an RSS feed into a table to ensure that its contents are placed in a specific area of the document.
