Rename a Document

You can make your document easier to identify in an extensive document list by renaming it.

To rename a document:

  1. Highlight the document that you want to rename by clicking the name listed under the 'FILENAME' heading.
  2. Click 'DOCUMENTS' menu item from the tool bar at the top of your MoST page. A drop-down menu will appear.
  3. Click 'RENAME' option to open the 'RENAME DOCUMENT' dialog window (above image).
  4. Enter a new name for the document in the 'Name' text field.
  5. Choose the preferred 'Document Type' from the following options:
  6. Web
A Web document is a page that displays on your website, site map and search engine results once you've entered a Description.

    Email
An Email document is a page that can be emailed to your database lists (e.g. e-Newsletters and ezines). An email document won't appear on your website, site map and search engine results.

    System
A system document holds functionality that appears on your web page, but wont be visible in the editor box e.g. navigation menus, login boxes and search fields. This document type is usually only used by the website's designer.

    Note

MoST automatically update all links to a document once it's been renamed, please allow the process to complete before exiting dialog window in order to prevent broken links from occurring.

The time taken to complete the rename varies depending on the number of documents in the website.

If you need to change the font case of a document's name, you may need to change it twice as MoST will identify that there is already a document of this name in the folder. If you need to make such a change then it is suggested that the document is renamed to something completely different before it is set to the appropriate name and case size.
