The permission screen can be used for bulk assigning section permissions

Alternatively you can assign section permissions using subscription types and a subscription type can then be given permissions to a section.

This is preferable as it is more efficient.

The exception may be when

• having a subscription type would interfere with the most membership changing model
• the number of users is insufficient to make creating a subscription type  worth while

To assign permissions

• Select search where data field
• Select Search Criteria
• Enter search subject
• select search to return users
• Select sections to apply by holding down shift or control
• If these permissions are to be added to the existing permissions, select the add to tick box
• select apply

Note: Press the 'Clear' button to start a new search.
